Overview

Securiguard Inc. is accepting applications for Security Dispatcher in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

Duties include: monitoring computer-based alarm and access control systems and closed circuit television systems; emergency response coordination; answering telephones; radio communication coordination between security officers; internal and external emergency notification; maintain a daily activity log of incidents; and, preparing reports of incidents. SOC dispatchers process temporary identification passes and maintain a separate log for lost and found articles. They also maintain records of issued temporary identification badges and update database systems as required. Dispatchers deal with Kennedy Center staff and the general public regarding security related questions (lost and found, etc.) and also conduct administrative matters for the Security Operations Center.

 

 

The SOC Dispatcher is responsible for receiving, issuing, storing and accounting for controlled JFKC keys and other controlled property, such as radios and security equipment. Dispatchers reconcile sign in/out records for property with each shift and maintain a copy of the inventory. Any discrepancies are noted and brought to the attention of the Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must be an ―Unarmed Special Police Officer, licensed by the District of Columbia Security Officer Management Branch and be registered, certified, licensed, insured, or bonded as required by the appropriate federal, state or local government where the services are being provided.
  • Dispatcher SPO’s must possess a minimum of two years of experience in law enforcement, military, guard force, or security, or a combined total of two years of experience in these fields working in a security operations center which includes experience in the operation of computer based alarm monitoring and access control systems and radio/telephone.
  • Dispatch Certification Required
  • Dispatcher SPO’s must possess a high school diploma or equivalency; however, collegiate academic course work or an AA/AS degree is preferred

 Min 21 years of age; US Cit; Pass Physical/Drug screen & background.
